Steve Carell Leaving The Office
Steve Carrell has told a host of media sources that he is ready to leave the office after the shows 7th season, which ends next May.
Carell plays office manager Michael Scott in the series based on the UK hit ‘The Office’ which stared Ricky Gervais. The office has been on our screens for 5 years now, and has been highly successful, with Carell taking home a golden globe and also receiving a nomination for an Emmy award.
Carell said ‘I just think it is time, I want to fulfill my contract.’ He went onto say that he thought that it was time for his character to leave. Many will be saddened by the loss of Carell as the main character in the show, as it will more than likely mean the end of the hit US sitcom.
On the other hand, many fans believe that the show is past its peak, and making any more episodes would tarnish the shows formidable reputation. According to critics, it seems that series seven may be a convenient time for the office to call it a day. Fans are also calling for the show not to make any spin off’s as this may also tarnish the shows reputation, like a few others.
NBC is reportedly thinking about carrying on the show without him, however, an intriguing interview will be with NBC bosses about where they plan to go without Carell, or if as many suspect Carell’s final show will be the last show.
