Anna Chapman & Russian Spies UK Link
It seems that a woman in the middle of a transatlantic spy investigation did work earlier and reside in London. Anna Chapman has now been arrested and will face charges for acting as unlawful agent of a foreign government.
It appears that she did live and work in London for 5 years previous to joining the SVR, which is Russia’s foreign intelligence service responsible for information gathering and analysis.
The only known confirmation of her time in London comes from a company called NetJets Europe who are based in central London, a spokesman said, “We can confirm that Ms Chapman was employed by NetJets Europe from May to July 2004, as an executive assistant in the sales department.”
The SVR’s joins forces with other intelligence sectors from other countries to deter destruction of weapons of mass destruction, and organized crime including terrorism.
Chapman (who was one of 11 people arrested), is only 28 and part of a ‘team’ of experts who sent information back to the US before they sent this information onto the Russian government. The US government said that these people where involved in ‘a mission’ to share private information with other counties.
Reports had suggested that Chapman was a successful woman before joining the SVR, allegedly, she had a degree, a top of the range flat in the centre of New York, and even an online estate agency firm, reports also suggested that she had been married to a British man. Chapman’s mother Irina has said that there was no way her daughter could be a Russian agent.
